North Sussex

Pub of the Year (POTY) Selection Process

Each January we select a shortlist of pubs for our Pub of the Year and our Cider Pub of the Year. This is done at the branch meeting where the results of the pub surveys conducted for the Good Beer Guide selection process are discussed.

Shortly after the meeting, the CAMRA Communications Tool is used to advise all branch members of the two shortlists and the process and deadline for casting their vote.

Members are asked to place the shortlisted pubs in order of preference, so that the Single Transferrable Vote system can be used to decide the winners.

The deadline is usually the second Tuesday of March.

In the event of a tie, joint winners will be announced, with the pub receiving the higher average pub score for the previous calendar year being chosen as the pub to go forward to the Sussex Pub of the Year judging.
