Pub Walk - June 2023
The North Sussex Branch had a social walk between pubs in June and got some exercise in along the way! We hopped the train from Crawley and travelled to Eastergate to start our day in Wilkes Head, which proved to have a good selection available across a very quaint bar:
The trains were in our favour, and we travelled to Arundel for an afternoon in the new Fauna Brewery. The staff were very accommodating in the beautiful converted engine room that used to provide power to Arundel Castle. Not only did we have the opportunity to sample Fauna’s excellent beers but also their delicious pizza menu.
On the way back to Arundel station, we had time for a Bonus Pub, and we stopped off in the Kings Arms to be greeted with an excellent selection of real ale and ciders.
After our bonus round, we were back on track towards the familiar territory of Billingshurst to visit the Billi Tap. A cosy and welcoming taproom that continues to provide a fantastic range of ales, ciders and, for a change of subject, Sussex gins! The flight paddle option to taste their range of ales was a joy:
Our final stop for the day was a new Tap Room in the midst of its first full week of opening. Brolly Brewery's new Taproom in Horsham has been lovingly refurbished into a beautiful working brewery and taproom that was filled to the rafters! Congratulations to Brook and Holly on their amazing achievement for their growing brewery. |
