    The Horsham Brewhouse and Kitchen has had it's brewing equipment removed and the premises has been refurbished, rebranded and reopened as The Rock Craft House

  • 2024 CAMRA champion Beers announced Friday 1 November 2024

    Crouch Vale’s Amarillo (5%) has been crowned CAMRA’s Champion Beer of Britain 2024. Runner up was Anspach & Hobday, The IPA 6% and third place went to Green Jack, Trawlerboys Best Bitter 4.6%

  • D&B Refurbishment completed Monday 28 October 2024

    The Dog & Bacon in Horsham has reopened following an extensive refurbishment.

    The pub is steadily gaining a reputation for good beer so we hope to include it on a forthcoming branck outing.

    The branch joined Beth and Simon at the White Horse in Maplehurst to celebrate their 40 years in residence.

  • Horsham Brewing Company (HBC) Launch new home Friday 16 August 2024

    HBC lauched their new brewery and tap room with a gala weekend featuring a range of their own beers plus several from small local breweries.

    Regular opening hours have been extended to Wednesday to Friday 5.30pm - 10.30pm and Saturdays 11am until 9pm.

    We had a great day walking the Knepp Estate for a Branch trip that included the lovely Countryman Inn and we were very well looked after at Aleworks brewing company

    agm24 Many thanks to The Apple Tree for hosting this years meeting. All of last years officers were happy to stand again and were duly appointed.

    The draw for the Ale Trail prize winners was also made. It was a great success and we hope to do it again next year.

  • Shelley Arms in danger Thursday 4 April 2024

    Stonegate have put in an application to build homes on part of the car park of the Shelley Arms in Broadbridge Heath.

    CAMRA firmly believes this is not in the interest of the pub or those living near by, we have commented on the application HERE.

    If agreed this will probably undermine the viability of the pub and may lead to it's closure. At best parking may become an issue in the area in addition to removing amenity from the area.

  • 50th Aniversary Celebratory Lunch Saturday 16 March 2024

    A huge thank you to everyone to helped us celebrate the official launch of 50 years of the North Sussex Branch.

    We are particularly grateful to The Red Lion, Turners Hill for hosting us and providing a delicious buffet, to Harvey's Brewery for laying on a special treat of our own Ale (including its own special pump clip) and to Bunny Lucas from Kissingate Brewery for her delicious cake.

  • 2024 Branch Pub of the year (BPotY) Tuesday 12 March 2024

    Congratulations to The Engine Room in East Grinstead, who have been voted this years branch favourite. The Brewery Shades was second with the Malt Shovel in third place.

    The Brewery Shades retained it's title of Cider Pub of the Year so congratulations also the Shades Team.

    Presentation to the Engine Room for their POTY certificate will be on Saturday April 6th at 1pm, to coincide with the Dark Beer Festival that weekend and we hope that you can join us.

  • Ale Trail launch Friday 8 March 2024

    We want everyone to join in with our big birthday celebrations so, along with our centerpiece events, we have commisioned a special Ale Trail with the chance to win beer voucher prizes.

    It will launched at our lunch on Saturday March 16th and will run until the AGM on May 14th.

Delighted to report that the Kings Arms has re-opened after a considerable period. On a recent visit they were serving Landlord & Fortyniner, with another handpump at the ready.

  • It's voting time! Thursday 22 February 2024

    The finalists for Branch Pub of the Year (BPOTY) have been agreed and members are now invited to choose a winner.

    To vote, please place the pubs in your order of preference from 1st up to 6th (note that you don't have to vote for every one).

    There are two ways to vote:
    1) by email to:
    ku.gro.armac.xessushtron@yraterces (include your membership number),

    or 2) in person at the branch meeting on March 12th in the Brewery Shades Crawley at 7.30pm, The winners will be announced there later in the evening.

  • Wheatsheaf reopens Wednesday 24 January 2024

    Having been closed since last summer The Wheatsheaf at Plummers Plain has reopened under new managment.

    Although the focus is on food, the new owners are initially offering Long Man best bitter on draft with plan to expand their selection over the coming months.

    We wish Nick and his team every success.

    The last of this seasons apple tree blessings took place at Bignose and Beardy with branch members joining in and enjoying the mulled cider, sausage rolls and singing.

    A great night was had by all with a drink at The White Horse, a procession up to JB’s cider and a full Wassail to sing and shout the tree demons away for a good orchard harvest this year.

    Every year the branch organises its popular stroll around some of our favourite bars in Horsham during that quiet time between christmas and new year.

    This year we included the recently re-opended Bear, as well as visiting regulars: Malt Shovel Anchor Tap Piries Bar Black Jug before heading to local breweries Brolly Brewing and Horsham Tap

    The branch runs lots of social events throughout the year - all are welcome to come along and join in the fun.

    A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the beertwixmas walk, it was a fantastic day, and we hope everyone enjoyed themselves.
